Job summary

Towson University is seeking a Laboratory Research Assistant to coordinate experiments, maintain mammalian cell cultures, and support data collection and analysis on a grant project.

You will work with the PI to organize activities, troubleshoot experiments, and mentor undergraduates in techniques, documentation, and safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field.
  • Two years of research experience.

  • Manage daily laboratory operations, including ordering supplies, maintaining inventories, coordinating equipment maintenance, and ensuring an organized and safe working environment.
  • Participate in lab meetings and contribute to preparing research reports, presentations, and manuscripts.

Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field.
  • Two years of research experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in biology, Neuroscience or any related field.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, particularly neural stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), and iPSC-derived neurons and astrocytes.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills,
  • Ability to work collaboratively and perform experiments independently.
  • Willingness to learn new methods.
