The Department of Neurology is looking for a technician to work in both a research and clinical based laboratory. This position will be job-shared between two laboratories in the department of Neurology. Job duties will be split as follows -
Job Responsibilities:
75% Research-
-Perform histology and molecular biology experiments
-Interpret experimental results
-Troubleshoot new experimental processes
-Prepare and ship samples and reports to requesting physicians
-Prepare images and figures for publication, manuscripts, and archives
25% Lab Tech Work -
-Process clinical samples
-Prepare and ship samples and reports to requesting physicians
-Maintain CLIA standards
-Document and maintain biopsy databases
-Administrative duties as assigned (UMarket purchasing, Spreadsheet entries, Database maintenance, Invoicing for services rendered, and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
-BS/BA degree in Biology or related field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years.
-Coursework in biology
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
-Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with histology
-Experience with confocal microscopy
-Previous research experience
-Ability to assist in grant submissions
-Excellent verbal, written skills, and organization skills

Pay Range: $43,000-$49,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience
