Job summary

The Haque Lab at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center conducts translational research focused on inflammation, cancer, neurodegeneration, and spinal cord injury.

The Research Specialist I will support the PI and team in laboratory and animal studies, maintain protocols, and handle day-to-day operations to enable multidisciplinary biomedical research. The role offers hands-on exposure to molecular, cellular, immunological, and animal-based

Qualifications

A high school diploma and two years work experience in a clinical or research setting; a bachelor's degree may substitute for the two years of experience.
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science is acceptable in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

Directly responsible for spinal cord injury experiments and sample preparation using biochemical, immunological, and molecular assays.
Manage daily lab operations: instrument use, ordering, shipments, maintenance, and inventory.
Participate in animal models, tissue culture, gene transfer, immunostaining, rehab and behavioral studies.
Prepare experimental reports and assist with lab protocols, manuscripts, and grants.
