The position is in the Roussarie lab, in the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology, which investigates the molecular basis of neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease. The lab studies the selective vulnerability of a particular set of neurons as a way to identify genes involved in neurodegeneration. The position will facilitate research on selective neuronal vulnerability by generating human and mouse in vitro models, by maintaining mouse models of Alzheimer's disease, by performing stereotaxic surgery on the mouse brain, and by using an array of histological and biochemical techniques to assay neurodegeneration. More generally, the position will be responsible for ensuring continuity and consistency in the lab protocols, reagents and biological materials used by lab students and postdocs.
