Job summary

Michigan Tech Research Institute seeks an entry- to mid-level software developer to support a variety of scientific and research programs for government and commercial customers. A solid background in computer science with strong skills in prototyping, design, and deployment is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or engineering with computer science experience.
Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB or C++, and Unix/Linux environments.
Experience with revision control, containerization, and virtual environments.
Ability to work in team projects and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Design and develop software user interfaces and underlying components.
Support data management for research projects and maintain scientific databases.
Prototype and evaluate signal processing, remote sensing, and machine learning algorithms.
Collaborate with team to define objectives and assess software options.
Document software and assist in training and user support.
