Job summary

The University of Delaware invites applications for a Research Software Engineer to join the NSF AI Institute for Human-AI Cooperation (HAIC). The RSE will build, validate, and maintain scalable open-source software and cyberinfrastructure to support institute-wide AI research.

You will collaborate with UD and partner institutions, work with HPC resources (SLURM, GPUs) and contribute to reusable, well-documented code and tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of related work experience.
• Experience with Linux and command line.
• Hands-on experience with shared high-performance computing environments and workload scheduling tools (e.g., SLURM).
• Extensive experience with version control and git, with contributions to open source repositories.
• Ability to work with researchers across multi-institutional teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HAIC researchers to build and maintain scalable software for AI research.
• Develop, deploy, scale, and optimize workflows on HPC resources.
• Maintain documentation and public GitHub repositories to support reproducible research.
• Translate AI models for deployment across diverse settings and platforms.
