Balchem Corp. is seeking a Research Scientist to join the R&D Group in New Hampton, NY (Temp) and Montvale, NJ (Perm). You will tackle diverse projects, develop new products, and drive research from ideation to scale-up, collaborating across lab, pilot plant, and commercial teams.

You will contribute deep knowledge of Balchem’s technology, manage experiments, and publish or patent findings while supporting production site scale-up and occasional travel.

Qualifikationen

• BS degree in chemistry or related field with 4+ years of experience.
• Advanced knowledge of formulation chemistry and material characterization.
• Experience with DOE and multivariate design spaces for R&D projects.

Aufgaben

• Provide hands-on lab and pilot plant support including extrusion, granulation, and fluidized bed operations.
• Develop new formulations and improve existing ones using bench chemistry techniques.
• Apply DOE to explore design spaces and document projects clearly.
• Act as internal Balchem technology expert on microencapsulation and spray-drying.
• Manage projects to progress from ideation to scale-up with cross-functional teams.
