Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, including Teledyne Scientific & Imaging, seeks a Research Scientist in North Carolina to advance AI, autonomy, and signal-processing solutions. You will design algorithms for PC, GPU, and embedded platforms and contribute to collaborative research proposals.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in a related field, have Python and C/C++ skills, and possess strong communication abilities. Travel up to 5% may be required as part of collaborative programs.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 0–5 years of post-doctoral or equivalent research experience.
• Proficiency in scientific programming with Python.
• Hands‑on experience with C and/or C++.
• Strong background in signal processing and statistical analysis.
• Experience with CUDA and GPU programming (strongly desired).
• Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop, and deliver innovative solutions for advanced technology applications.
• Conduct research in artificial intelligence, autonomy, target detection & tracking, and decision systems.
• Design and implement advanced algorithms on PC, GPU, and embedded architectures.
• Perform sophisticated signal processing, statistical analysis, and systems engineering tasks.
• Support hardware/software integration, testing, and evaluation of applied technologies.
• Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and collaborative research proposals.
