Job summary

The University of Kansas Medical Center seeks a Research Project Manager within CIRO to oversee complex research portfolios, coordinating with faculty investigators, partners, and sponsors to advance extramural funding and research operations.

You will manage budgets, monitor financial projections, support proposal development, ensure compliance with SOPs, and supervise staff to maintain high-quality workflows across research initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in business administration or related field.
• 5 years of experience in research administration, project management or grant management.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned research portfolios with investigators, partners, and sponsors.
• Support planning, coordination, and implementation of research projects and initiatives.
• Administer extramural and intramural funds including budgets and reporting.
• Assist proposal development and research collaborations to advance priorities.
• Serve as liaison among sponsors, investigators, collaborators and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with policies, sponsor requirements, contracts, SOPs.
• Conduct portfolio reviews to monitor finances, milestones and objectives.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Supervise and train staff to support performance and compliance.
• Partner with Director to develop SOPs and workflows.
