University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Research Project Manager to lead operational aspects of exercise oncology projects in the Schmitz Lab. The role requires self-direction, ownership of outcomes, and minimal supervision.
The position involves coordinating activities across sites, liaising with investigators, clinicians, and study participants, and applying GCP guidelines to promote efficient project completion. On-campus, full-time, with related eligibility and scheduling expectations.
This position is to serve as a Research Project Manager for the Schmitz Lab and will lead many of the operational aspects required for several exercise oncology research projects. This position requires a highly self-directed professional who exercises sound judgment, takes ownership of outcomes, and requires minimal supervision.
The Research Project Manager will coordinate research activities involving multiple sites. These exercise oncology studies require the development and maintenance of connections with members of the study team, including principal investigators and clinicians, as well as research participants, IRB members, and clinical staff.
The Research Project Manager will use Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines to help develop techniques and procedures that promote the efficient completion of complex research projects and tasks.
Manages all aspects of one or more projects for a research program and oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle. Provides leadership, technical direction, coordination, and expertise across projects. Analyzes progress and/or performance and prepares reports. Ensures compliance with budget, scope, timeline, and regulations. Assists with external communications.
Primarily sedentary. May be required to stand for extended periods of time at lab bench.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
