Summary
Job Description:
The SIS Office of Research supports the research endeavors of SIS faculty by providing resources and technical assistance for research promotion and research development. We seek to fill the role of Research Program Coordinator. This position requires a Federal Work Study award.
Responsibilities
- Event Planning and Management (booking travel, venues, catering orders, honoraria/financial paperwork, assisting with design of promotional materials, etc.).
- Posting to/managing content of social media accounts.
- Writing content for the research website.
- Database management / data entry, search tools.
- Assisting with scheduling and basic administrative functions.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work
- Part-Time.
- 15-20 hours per week.
- A hybrid schedule that combines some hours in the office with remote work.
Salary Range
Required Education And Experience
- Student at American University.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong writing skills, both longer-form pieces and shorter posts for social media.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work in multicultural environments.
- Customer Service focus and ability to professionally communicate with faculty members is essential.
- Must have a Federal Work Study (FWS) award.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Previous experience working at AU campus office.
- Basic knowledge of SIS faculty research endeavors.
- Experience with graphic design (especially Canva), Eventbrite, and SharePoint.
