This Senior Financial Aid Specialist supports the Financial Aid function at Herzing University with policy, procedure, technology, and process optimization needs. This role requires high attention to detail and technical proficiency. The Senior Specialist also needs the ability to generate innovative ideas. The role reports to the Director of Financial Aid - Compliance and is part of the Financial Aid Compliance Team within the Home Office division.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of Title IV administration experience preferred; minimum 1 year of related experience required.
  • Experience with automated systems and processes preferred.
  • Experience with policy, procedure, and data system development using automation preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations related to financial aid eligibility and processing preferred.

Pay: Compensation is based on qualifications and experience. The hourly pay range is $27.79 to $37.60. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition benefits, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan with company match. Learn more about careers at Herzing University.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform internal audits of various funding programs and collaborate on staff training.
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to financial aid processes leveraging technology and reporting.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system upgrades, including designing test plans and executing tests.
  • Partner with campus financial aid leadership on budget utilization, staffing, and resource management.
  • Maintain the FWS Tracker and resolve documented issues promptly.
  • Configure financial aid software for award year setup to ensure system accuracy.
  • Assist financial aid staff across campuses with troubleshooting and policy research.
  • Commit to continuous improvement in efficiency, accuracy, student satisfaction, and innovation.
