Texas Southern University in Houston seeks a Research Postdoctoral Fellow II to advance pharmaceutical science research in the Center for Biomedical and Health Research (CBMHR). The role covers bioanalysis, drug absorption and metabolism using state‑of‑the‑art instrumentation, and supporting grant activities.
The successful candidate will publish findings, present at meetings, mentor students and contribute to lab maintenance and compliance.
Research Postdoctoral Fellow II – Official TSU Title
Under direct supervision of the U54 grant PI, this position conducts pharmaceutical science research in the Center for Biomedical and Health Research (CBMHR). Responsibilities include bioanalysis, drug absorption studies using Caco‑2 and intestinal perfusion models, drug metabolism using enzyme‑mediated models, metabolite structure identification, drug elimination and biodistribution using animal models, and providing services and technical support to internal and external users. This grant‑funded position supports the research and development activities of the university’s large center grants, including the NIH U54 RCMI‑CBMHR Center, CPRIT CCPF Center, the iO3 Center, and TSU’s Catalyst. The postdoctoral fellow assists in grant and paper writing, presents research at local, national and international meetings, and provides help in lab maintenance.

Salary Range: $64,197.37 – $81,851.64
Hours of Work: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday‑Friday
Required: Doctoral degree in a biomedical science‑related field with experience in pharmaceutical research.

Work performed in a routine office environment with no exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions. Physical demands are typically limited to sitting or standing for extended periods; occasional stooping, lifting or carrying light objects may be required.
