Job summary

TAP Engineering, located in College Park, MD, is hiring a Research Project Manager to oversee diverse government research programs in quantum computing, microelectronics, and photonics. The role involves coordinating with government scientists, academia, and industry partners to drive progress and ensure successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring strong project management skills, technical knowledge in one or more key areas, and the ability to manage complex, distributed portfolios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, science, management, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of project/program management experience with cost and schedule responsibility.
• Experience with requirements analysis and resource allocation.
• Experience with project costing and deliverable tracking.
• Technical knowledge in Advanced Computing Systems, Quantum Computing, RF/Optics, Additive Manufacturing, or Microelectronics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and flow down project requirements, technical and programmatic.
• Develop and modify technical Statements of Work.
• Monitor and report on research project plans, cost, schedule, risk, and resources.
• Forecast technical performance, cost, and schedule.
• Support logistics for meetings, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Prepare monthly project status reviews for executive leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on urgent project issues.
