Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Research Administrative Manager to support PIs with onboarding, staffing, grants management, and budgeting.

The role ensures smooth daily Neighborhood operations and collaboration with faculty, postdocs, and staff across departments. The position involves coordinating with the Office of Sponsored Programs, HR, and NU collaborators, handling visas, and assisting with performance documentation and appointments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 2+ years of experience or 6+ years in related work.
• Administrative experience in research administration is required.
• Proficiency with PC and Mac; experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EndNote, and publishing tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with progress reports, budgets, proposals, and sponsor guidelines interpretation.
• Advise PIs and staff on Federal, State, and institutional policies and deadlines.
• Manage external grants and contracts, coordinating with OSP, finance, and HR.
• Review and organize Neighborhood budgets and financial reports.
• Support faculty recruitment and faculty appointments with NU collaborators.
• Collaborate with HR to recruit staff and fill vacancies; manage requisitions.
• Assist with visa and green card applications for faculty and staff.
• Coordinate Neighborhood programs with HR, Payroll, AP, and NU offices.
• Onboard new employees and assist with performance documentation and inquiries.
• Other duties as assigned.
