Job summary

The Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center within the UW School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a research Nurse Practitioner to support the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study in mapping dementia prevalence and guiding multidisciplinary clinical diagnosis.

The NP will perform comprehensive neurological and medical assessments and contribute to a clinician panel with a geriatrician and neuropsychologist.

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin APRN license with NP role, or eligibility to obtain before start date.
• Wisconsin RN license required by start date.
• Current NP certification or eligibility to obtain before start date.
• Preferred: experience with geriatric patients or cognitive impairment.
• Preferred: experience in clinical research, neurology, or performing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, collects data, and evaluates primary health care services as directed by individual care plans
• Develops individualized care plans based on medical assessments in accordance with medical best practices and established rules and regulations
• Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them
• May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students
• Collaborates with research teams to develop and implement study visit protocols, including serious adverse event evaluation, prescreening medical records, and interpreting lab and imaging results
• Assess, diagnoses, and treat illnesses, and manage chronic health problems
