Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison invites applications for a research Nurse Practitioner to support the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and the Wisconsin Longitudinal Study. You will perform comprehensive medical assessments and contribute to a multidisciplinary clinician panel to reach a dementia diagnosis in a research setting.

Travel is required nationwide for home visits; occasional evenings and weekends may occur.

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin APRN license with the recognized role of Nurse Practitioner (NP), or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
• Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) License required by the start date of the position.
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification or eligibility to obtain prior to start date

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, collects data, and evaluates primary health care services as directed by individual care plans
• Develops individualized care plans based on medical assessments in accordance with medical best practices and established rules and regulations
• Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them
• May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students
• Collaborates with research teams to develop and implement study visit protocols, including serious adverse event evaluation, prescreening medical records, and interpreting lab and imaging results
• Assess, diagnoses, and treats illnesses, and manages chronic health problems
