Job summary

Nebraska Medicine seeks a Research Medication Pharmacist to lead pharmacy services for clinical trials at the Durham Outpatient Center in Omaha, NE. This full-time role supports first shift, Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, ensuring accurate dispensing and patient care.

Candidates should hold a PharmD or equivalent with Nebraska licensure, plus experience with Windows-based systems and dispensing cabinets like PYXIS. A strong commitment to quality and collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• ACPE-accredited PharmD or equivalent with strong pharmacy practice.
• Nebraska Pharmacy License required at start or transfer.
• Working knowledge of basic Windows applications and department software.
• Experience with dispensing cabinets and pharmacy devices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and provide pharmacy services for research medications in clinical trials.
• Deliver high-quality patient care and meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with team to provide effective service to customers.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement in procedures and outcomes.
• Support researchers and staff across enterprise in trial-related dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Cooperate in planning, implementing, and providing all pharmacy services related to research medications that are used in clinical trials throughout the enterprise.
• Provide the highest quality patient care.
• Seek out customer requirements and meet them.
• Work as a member of a team to provide effective service to customers.
• Demonstrate by actions and decisions a dedication to continual and constant quality improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
• Possess a working knowledge of basic windows applications and department/campus software programs required.
• Experience with typical office equipment (e.g., computers, calculators).
• Ability to dispense cabinets (e.g., PYXIS) required.
• Experience with various computerized and mechanical devices necessary for product preparation and dispensing (e.g.,micromix, web site resources, general compounding, laminar air flow hoods, safety cabinets, etc.) required.
• Nebraska Pharmacy License required.
• Licensed in the state of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted upon start or transfer required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with research protocols preferred.
• American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one residency preferred.
• Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.
