Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Pharmacist Specialist - Inpatient for the OR unit at Bellevue Medical Center. This full-time role supports the pharmacy team, providing clinical expertise and ensuring optimal medication use in a high-acuity surgical environment.

The incumbent will supervise pharmacy services, coordinate with care teams, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives while maintaining patient safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an ACPE-accredited PharmD program or equivalent with 10 years of experience.
• Licensed (or eligible) in Nebraska or jurisdiction of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association-endorsed program.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality patient care in the inpatient OR setting.
• Supervise pharmacy services in assigned patient care area and ensure medication-related needs are met.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and techs to optimize pharmaceutical care.
• Commit to continual quality improvement and teamwork.

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented, passionate, and energetic individual to join us as an Inpatient Pharmacy Specialist for our OR unit. This is a great position for those who want to utilize their clinical skills and expertise in pharmacy operations. You will be well supported by other pharmacists and a dedicated team of technicians. This specific position will work at Bellevue Medical Center. (Also known as: Pharmacist, Inpatient Pharmacist) We partner with our physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to provide the best Serious Medicine and Extraordinary Care available in the region. Shift:

• 40 Hours Week / 1.0 FTE / Benefits eligible
• First shift / Full-Time M-F 5:30-14:00
• Potential for some evenings, weekends, holidays based on department needs (likely every 4th weekend and 2-3 evenings per 4 week period)

Pharmacist Specialist - Inpatient - OR Description

Provide the highest quality patient care. Supervise pharmacy services in assigned patient care area and ensure all medication related patient and care provider needs are met. Work proactively as a member of a team(s) to ensure the provision of optimal pharmaceutical care. Demonstrate a dedication to continual and constant quality improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
• Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program, as deemed appropriate for patient facing roles and relevant to practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one residency preferred.
• Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.
