Job summary

Nebraska Medicine in Nebraska is seeking a Pharmacist Program Coordinator to lead patient-centered pharmaceutical care, develop care plans, monitor therapy costs, and guide drug-use evaluation within clinical teams. This role includes training staff and disseminating knowledge on medication use across the organization.

Requirements include a PharmD or equivalent, 5+ years of clinical practice or ASHP residency, leadership abilities, and Nebraska licensure.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years clinical practice experience in the clinical specialty or an ASHP accredited postgraduate year two residency in the specialty required.
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
• Demonstrate excellence in clinical areas and ability to update standards of practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the provision of patient-oriented pharmaceutical care services including creation and maintenance of pharmaceutical care plans.
• Provide training and educational support for development of clinical skills in professional staff.
• Disseminate new knowledge, utilization trends and outcomes information related to medication use/pharmaceutical care programs.

Shift Details:

• Full-time / 1.0 FTE / Benefits Eligible / Exempt Position
• Monday - Friday, First Shift Hours (Varied)
• Call Expectation - 1 Weekend Call Shift/Month : 24 Hour Call Saturday/Sunday, 1 Monthly Call Shift, & 1 Quarterly (Friday) Call Shift
• Location: East Campus Corp Pavilion (Onsite), Omaha NE.

Pharmacist Program Coordinator Description:

Lead the provision of patient-oriented pharmaceutical care services including creation and maintenance of pharmaceutical care plan, cost-effective therapeutic drug monitoring, drug utilization, guideline development, and drug use evaluation in assigned clinical teams. Provide training and educational support for development of clinical skills in professional staff. Responsible for dissemination of new knowledge, utilization trends and outcomes information related to medication use/pharmaceutical care programs at the organization. Lead efforts to educate other disciplines regarding appropriate use of drug therapy.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years clinical practice experience in the clinical specialty or an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year two residency in the specialty required.
• Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
• Demonstrate excellence in clinical areas as displayed by ability to consistently and completely meet and contribute to updating standards of practice required.
• Demonstrateexcellence in training undergraduate students, residents, and pharmacists as evidenced by student/trainee evaluations required.
• Maturity and leadership skills required.
• Licensed in the state of Nebraska or jurisdiction in which pharmacy practice is conducted upon start or transfer required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

Preferred Qualifications:

• American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one or year two residency as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.
• Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.
