You will manage relationships with key stakeholders, present insights, and drive proprietary intelligence across the data centre ecosystem. A strong leadership and market knowledge are essential.

Our client is the leading provider of market data, research and intelligence for the global data centre sector. Their technology-led platform gives the key players designing and developing digital infrastructure the insight they need to make high-stakes, multi-billion-dollar investment and strategy decisions.

They're looking for an experienced Research Manager to join the business in Virginia and lead their North America research capability, taking ownership of research quality, market coverage, team performance, and client-relevant insights across the region.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the North America research function, owning regional research quality, delivery, market coverage and team performance
• Translating the organization's global research strategy into clear regional priorities, delivery plans and measurable expectations
• Ensuring regional data, commentary and market intelligence are accurate, well-evidenced, timely and aligned with company research methodology and quality standards
• Managing team capacity and developing capability across recurring research, market monitoring, client requests and strategic projects
• Developing and maintaining relationships across the North America data centre ecosystem to generate proprietary intelligence
• Acting as a credible regional authority on the data centre market — preparing research presentations and briefings, representing the business at industry events, and contributing to market reports, thought leadership, press and media activity
• Acting as the primary Research partner for North America Commercial teams, supporting strategic client conversations
• Partnering with Product and the Research Operations Manager to improve datasets, platform functionality, regional methodologies and workflows
• Maintaining clear communication with global Research leadership on regional performance, priorities, risks, opportunities and resource requirements

We are looking for someone with the following experience:

• A data centre sector background from a research, intelligence, or insights function at a brokerage or a data centre operator with a research function - a strong infrastructure, property, or real estate research background will be ideal
• Established people management experience, including performance management, coaching, capacity/workload planning and delivery quality across a research, market intelligence or data-led analytical team
• Deep knowledge of the principal themes shaping the data centre industry, with the credibility to hold industry conversations from day one
• A commercially minded operator who understands a revenue-driven organization and speaks the language of data centres as an asset class
• Confidence presenting research and defending conclusions in front of senior stakeholders, and strong stakeholder management skills across different departments, including senior leadership
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex market developments clearly and authoritatively to both industry and media audiences
• Strong judgment, intellectual curiosity and attention to detail, with experience building structure, accountability and consistent standards within a growing or evolving research environment
