Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, organizing and preparing samples, conducting experiments, and recording and analyzing data.

Essential Functions
  1. Perform laboratory experiments following established protocols and procedures.
  2. Prepare and handle samples, reagents, and solutions, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting.
  4. Record data accurately and maintain organized records.
  5. Analyze data using appropriate statistical methods.
  6. Assist in data interpretation and contribute to research reports.
Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Biology preferred. Experience can be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Licenses and Credentials

Experience in laboratory settings, 1-2 years preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and scientific software.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Additional Information

The Shalhout Lab is seeking a motivated research technician and clinical research coordinator to support research activities involving patient interaction, data collection, statistical analysis, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include obtaining informed consent, guiding patients, managing data, and supporting laboratory procedures. Prior experience with patient consent and biospecimen collection is a plus.

Work Conditions

Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens and biohazardous materials. Physical requirements include lifting objects up to 50 pounds and good vision.

Location & Hours

Onsite at 243-245 Charles Street, 40 hours/week, day shift.
