Job summary

Sierra Lobo, Inc. seeks a Journeyman Level Mechanical Technician to support the TFOME contract at NASA Glenn Research Center. The role involves performing routine and non-routine mechanical tasks on test hardware and facility systems used for high temperature fuel systems.

Expect to rotate shifts and overtime as needed. Candidates should have substantial journeyman experience and a strong ability to follow detailed work instructions, troubleshoot, modify, and repair test articles and equipment

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a Journeyman Level Mechanic or maintenance mechanic.
• Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship or equivalent vocational training.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from engineering or supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead crane and lifting equipment; provide rigging.
• Weld using oxy-acetylene, MIG, TIG on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper, brass.
• Operate large power tools (drill press, band saw, lathes) and smaller hand tools.
• Lay out and build complex tubing systems with flaring machines and tubing benders.
• Disassemble, repair, reassemble valves and regulators; ensure materials compatibility with flow media properties.
• Fabricate, install, operate and maintain cryogenic systems including liquid hydrogen/oxygen/nitrogen.
