Job description

Department/Unit: Immunology & Microbial Disease

Work Shift: Per Diem (United States of America)

Salary Range: $40,495.10 - $52,643.64

Learn the basic information and laboratory techniques necessary to conduct laboratory research experiments at Albany Medical College or similar research institutions.

1. Learn and perform a variety of technical research duties involved in conducting biochemical, molecular biological, behavioral, and immunological research in support of other research laboratories.
2. Prepare culture media, chemicals, reagents, and other solutions under the guidance of a senior research technician, research laboratory manager, and/or principal investigator in support of ongoing research activities.
3. Compile and document experimental results accurately.
4. Confer with the senior research technician, research laboratory manager, and/or principal investigator to review work assignments and plans for research experiments, making minor modifications to existing laboratory procedures and techniques as required.
5. Review laboratory methods manuals and scientific literature to perform and troubleshoot research techniques or experiments.
6. Set up instruments and necessary equipment for laboratory experiments, and maintain laboratory equipment properly.
7. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
8. Attend and participate in all educational activities related to the research program.
