Job summary

Zymo Research is seeking a dynamic RNA Analysis NGS team member to execute experiments and compile data. You will be mentored by a senior teammate and contribute to research project objectives in a highly collaborative setting.

A strong interest in RNA biology and hands-on RNA-seq experience are essential. Responsibilities include performing RNA-seq library construction, analyzing sequencing data, and communicating findings to the group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology or related field (Master's a plus).
• 2+ years in an academic or industry lab.

Job description

Zymo Research is looking for a dynamic individual to join our RNA Analysis NGS team. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the impact of cutting‑edge RNA‑seq technologies.

In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently executing experiments, compiling data, and communicating research findings. You will be mentored by a senior team member to support and effectively guide your contributions to research project objectives.

The ideal candidate should be a self‑motivated learner, an effective team player, and possess a strong interest in learning about NGS methods. The successful candidate should have a thorough conceptual understanding of RNA biology and RNA‑seq in addition to first‑hand experience performing RNA‑seq methods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform and optimize RNA‑seq library construction workflows
• Analyze and interpret NGS sequencing data
• Independently review literature and plan experiments
• Communicate results with the rest of the team

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• 2+ year experience in an academic or industry lab.
• Experience with standard molecular biology techniques i.e. PCR, qRT-PCR
• First‑hand experience constructing RNA‑seq libraries.

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks:

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $20 per hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation details will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
