Job summary

UNLV seeks a Research Cyberinfrastructure Engineer to advance HPC capabilities, manage clusters, storage, and networks, and enable researchers to leverage AI/ML and data-intensive workloads.

Responsibilities include tuning performance, supporting users, and documenting systems while collaborating with IT and research divisions. A bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years in HPC environments are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; required before start date.
• 3–5 years of experience in systems administration, preferably in HPC environments.
• Experience supporting research teams with federal or regional grants.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain HPC hardware and software including clusters and storage.
• Monitor performance and optimize computational efficiency.
• Provide technical support to researchers and students using HPC resources.
• Implement and maintain security protocols in compliance with university standards.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Develop documentation and training for HPC systems.
