Job summary

Harvard University, through Harvard Medical School's Department of Neurobiology, seeks a Research Portfolio Administrator to manage lifecycle sponsored award portfolios, ensuring compliance with sponsor and university policies.

You will collaborate with PIs, ORA, OSP, and other colleagues to prepare budgets, submit proposals, monitor expenditures, and generate financial reports, balancing autonomy with teamwork in a fast-paced research environment.

Qualifications

• 4 years of grants administration experience; higher education counts.
• Experience with pre- and/or post-award management.
• Experience managing sponsored projects or other restricted resources.
• Excellent computer skills; proficiency with Office and web apps.
• Knowledge of sponsor systems (ASSIST, eRA Commons) and cost principles.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Award: manage applications with researchers and subrecipients to meet deadlines.
• Prepare and submit grant applications; advise on eligibility and requirements.
• Post-Award: monitor grants/contracts and ensure compliance with terms.
• Prepare budgets, invoicing, and financial reporting for sponsors.
• Coordinate with OSP, ORA, and PIs; manage subawards and financial projections.
