Job summary

Viridien is seeking a Research Geophysicist to develop advanced processing and imaging methods for seismic data. You will leverage signal processing, wave propagation, and numerical optimization to produce high-impact solutions, validating results with senior teams and field data.

You will collaborate with software engineers on HPC applications across GPU and CPU architectures, and you may present findings to colleagues, clients, and at industry venues, while contributing technical articles to

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's in Geophysics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, CS, Applied Mathematics, or related.
• Ability to abstract geophysical concepts with mathematical languages.
• Excellent coding skills in C/C++, CUDA, FORTRAN, Python, OPENCL.
• Innovative mindset and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.
• Highly motivated and eager to learn with good communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop new, innovative solutions to seismic industry problems.
• Use signal processing, wave propagation and numerical optimization to create/improve processing and imaging methods.
• Validate contributions with senior staff by analyzing processing and imaging results on synthetic/field data.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to deploy high-performance computing applications on GPU/CPU architectures.
• Present work/results to colleagues, clients, and at conferences; prepare technical articles for journals.
