Qualifications

  • PhD required in Physics, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or equivalent with publication record.
  • At least three years post-PhD experience in the field.
  • Experience with instrumentation controls and data acquisition; cryogenic systems operation.
  • Understanding of superconducting microstructures and microscopy tools; mentoring skills expected.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in High Temperature Superconducting magnet technology and high-field magnets.
  • Support development of torque magnetometer and reel-to-reel characterization for ReBCO conductors.
  • Build and test magnets, cryostats, electronic instruments and measurement facilities.
  • Participate in outreach and interact with visitors during tours and open houses.
  • Collaborate with students and attend regular meetings to discuss results and strategy.
