Job summary

Florida State University’s National High Magnetic Field Laboratory - Electron Magnetic Resonance (EMR) program in Tallahassee invites applications for Research Faculty at 12 Month Salaried Open Rank. This full-time, on-site position supports advanced EPR research and collaboration across chemistry, physics and engineering, with opportunities to publish and secure external funding.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in a related field, with postdoctoral experience and hands-on pulsed EPR expertise.

Qualifications

PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or related field required.
Postdoctoral experience preferred.
Hands-on experience with pulsed EPR spectroscopy required.
Proficiency with spectral analysis and simulation tools (EasySpin, MATLAB, Bruker Xepr).
Strong understanding of spin physics, relaxation processes, and hyperfine interactions.
Record of publications and conference presentations in magnetic resonance.

Responsibilities

Provide user support and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate EPR findings into broader research projects.
Design and conduct advanced EPR experiments (CW and pulsed) to study paramagnetic systems.
Maintain and enhance EPR instrumentation, including HiPER 94 GHz spectrometer, ensuring performance and reliability.
Contribute to publications and conference presentations showcasing EMR results.
Grow the EMR program by seeking funding sources and submitting external grant applications.
