Job summary

Gelest, Inc. in Morrisville, PA, part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is seeking a Research Engineer to develop new processes and deploy technologies to enhance operations across lab, pilot, and production settings.

You will contribute to EH&S, design and transfer technology, and document progress while collaborating with Process Chemistry, Production, Q/A, and Business Development teams. A strong background in chemical engineering and process development is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a B.S. in chemical engineering or related discipline and 2–5 years of hands-on process development experience.
• Master's degree in engineering is helpful but not required.
• Able to interpret SDS and packaging code information and follow procedures.
• Familiar with handling moisture- and air-sensitive solids, liquids, and gases.
• Must demonstrate strong problem-solving and hands-on troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document testing protocols to optimize process performance in lab, pilot, and production settings.
• Develop formulas, processes, methods, and technologies to meet project objectives.
• Design, construct, commission, start-up, and troubleshoot demonstration processes.
• Lead or assist troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for existing manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate trial batches in production, including raw materials and procedures.
