Overview

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an Entry-level Research Systems Engineer for the Engineering and Innovative Technology Development (EITD) group. Responsibilities include assisting with flight operations support of payload systems for space applications, developing system-level documents, and assisting with functional and verification testing for complex engineering hardware and devices. EITD develops specialized research instruments for ground and microgravity-based research experiments.

US Citizens only. Reports to EITD Systems Engineering Section Lead. Works with a team to support development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
  • Support meetings, teleconferences, and travel as required by projects.
  • Travel to support testing and launch/return activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement. STEM-related field is preferred.

  • Experience using CAD software (e.g. SolidEdge or SolidWorks)
Salary

Base pay range: $57,940.00/yr - $94,150.00/yr

Location and Schedule

Location: University. Work arrangement: Onsite. Shift: Day/1st Shift.
