Job summary

Bosch Corporate Research is seeking a Research Engineer to conduct applied research in computational materials science at the atomistic level and contribute to the development of next-generation Bosch products. The role leverages both conventional simulations and AI techniques to rapidly move from concept to quantitative models within engineering cycles.

Qualifications

• PhD in materials science, chemistry, physics, or engineering.
• Experience with atomistic simulation and HPC (DFT/MD/MC, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python and scientific computing tools.
• Experience applying AI/ML to scientific problems.
• Ability to conduct independent research and publish results.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct applied research in materials science at the atomistic level.
• Apply atomistic methods and emerging AI tools to derive insights and models.
• Identify, connect, and collaborate with external partners.
• Communicate results through internal presentations, reports, publications and IP disclosures.
• Contribute to a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment.
• Create an AI-based framework enabling engineers to apply atomistic simulations.
