Job summary

MaineHealth Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Research Director to strategically lead and foster a growing department and system-wide research enterprise, mentor emerging talent, and create partnerships that elevate behavioral health research on a regional and national stage.

The role oversees research leaders across MaineHealth Behavioral Health and the Department of Psychiatry, ensuring regulatory compliance, growing research capacity, and expanding collaborations with MaineHealth,

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (MD, PhD, PsyD, ScD, DrPH).
• Eight or more years of applicable research experience; post-doctoral training or a research fellowship completed.
• Excellent written and verbal skills with a strong publication/presentation record; knowledge of federal regulations and human subjects protections.
• Advanced statistical training with SPSS, SAS, R, Stata, Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strategically lead and foster a growing department and system-wide research enterprise.
• Mentor emerging talent and build partnerships to elevate behavioral health research.
• Oversee and supervise research leaders, faculty, fellows, residents, and students.
• Identify, secure, and maintain extramural funding from governmental and non-governmental sources.
• Represent the department in national partnerships and recruitment for research excellence.
