Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to research, public health, social or behavioral sciences, health sciences, or a related discipline.
  • 1 year Post-baccalaureate experience in a research, academic, or administrative support environment.
  • Foundational knowledge of academic or research program environments.
  • Basic understanding of research documentation and administrative processes.
  • Awareness of effective professional communication practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Description Of Work

The Research Development Manager provides research administration and research development support for the Rural Drug Addiction Research ( RDAR ) Center. This position supports investigators and research teams through assistance with administrative processes, research development, project communications, and other research-promotion activities.
The role emphasizes strong organizational skills, clear written and verbal communication, collaborative team engagement, and the ability to concurrently manage multiple responsibilities. The Research Development Manager is expected to be a self-starter who demonstrates initiative, applies problem-solving skills to routine challenges, and effectively switch focus to meet competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Salary support for this position is derived from sponsored grants and contracts.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to research, public health, social or behavioral sciences, health sciences, or a related discipline and 1 year Post-baccalaureate experience in a research, academic, or administrative support environment.
  • Foundational knowledge of academic or research program environments.
  • Basic understanding of research documentation and administrative processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Awareness of effective professional communication practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience providing administrative or program support to research teams or academic units.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and colleagues across units.
