Job summary

Harvard Kennedy School seeks a Research and Data Specialist to bridge reference services with specialized consultation, training, and data facilitation for faculty, students, and fellows. The role supports teaching and learning by administering student access to technology in courses and collaborating with faculty and staff to address data needs.

The Specialist will work with Research Computing and Data Services and Library Services to align solutions and proactively develop services addressing

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library and information science, social science, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years in research data services or related role.

Responsibilities

• Delivers in-depth research and data consultations to faculty, students and fellows, including design and data analysis guidance.
• Designs, develops, and delivers training and workshops; creates instructional materials and online resources.
• Manages student licenses for tools used in courses (e.g., ChatGPT Edu and Claude).
• Manages user access to licensed data, software and learning resources.
• Supports data management processes for coursework and reviews data management plans for capstone projects.
