Job summary

Harvard Kennedy School is seeking a Manager of Data Acquisition and Management to lead data licensing, acquisition, and governance across research projects. Reporting to the Director of Research Computing and Data Services, you will oversee contracts, vendor relationships, and compliance in a complex academic environment.

You will build and mentor a team, develop data management plans, assess risk, and collaborate with faculty, researchers, and university offices to ensure data resources are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• 5+ years in data licensing, contracts, or research compliance, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience negotiating data contracts, licenses, or data use agreements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data licensing and acquisition processes and vendor relationships.
• Review data license and DUA terms for compliance.
• Manage licensed data contracts and renewals.
• Lead a team of Data Safety reviewers and develop data management plans.
• Assess risk and advise on acceptable risk thresholds.
• Develop, maintain, and update SOPs governing access to sensitive data.
