Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School invites applications for the Director of HKS Library Services. The role leads library staff, collections, and spaces, coordinating with Harvard Library system to advance research, teaching, and learning in public policy and government.

You will shape modern services, manage budgets and personnel, and foster a welcoming, user-centered environment for students, faculty, fellows, and staff, while engaging with campus partners and external networks.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent.
• At least 8 years in library leadership or management.
• Experience leading a matrixed, decentralized environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic leadership for evolving library services, collections, and facilities.
• Lead the HKS Library staff and space, align with Harvard Library standards.
• Foster proactive engagement with the HKS community and external partners.
• Oversee staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation with emphasis on collaboration and excellence.
• Build internal communication between researchers and library services.
