Job summary

As a Research Data Scientist for HVTI, you will utilize statistical, mathematical, and predictive modeling techniques to analyze complex datasets and develop algorithms that support cardiovascular outcomes research. In this role, you will serve as the primary data manager for multidisciplinary research studies, working with large observational datasets, national registries, and retrospective databases to generate reports, identify trends, and support evidence-based conclusions. You will extract, manage, and transform data from multiple sources using advanced database queries and data management tools while leveraging a strong IT foundation to navigate complex databases, automate workflows, and ensure secure and efficient data handling. This position will collaborate with statisticians, compliance, informatics, and clinical research teams to ensure data accuracy, patient privacy, regulatory compliance, and research readiness.

A caregiver in this role works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Utilize basic statistical, mathematical, and predictive modeling techniques to build algorithms and perform data analytics.
  • Utilize programming skills in languages such as SAS, SQL, SPSS, R, Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Perform basic data analysis including data validation, investigation, and hypothesis testing.
  • Assist Principal Investigator in transforming data to support research questions and develop basic predictive and statistical models using modeling tools.
  • Utilize process enhancement opportunities to improve the efficiency of data pulling, reporting, programming, operation etc.
  • Work to curate and process complex clinical and biological data
  • May communicate or present research findings.
  • Identify technical issues and manage resolution for analytics programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field and two years of experience conducting data analytics, math or statistical modeling or machine learning
  • OR Master’s or PhD degree
  • Proficiency with programing skills in languages such as SAS, SQL, SPSS, R, Python, MATLAB or similar

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Data and computer science/ IT/ programming background
  • Knowledge of research
  • Medical terminology
  • Experience with clinical findings

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC, normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying 5 to 15 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment.

Pay Range Minimum Annual Salary: $69,600.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $106,132.50

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
