Job summary

Google in New York, NY is seeking a Research Data Scientist for Search Ads to help shape the next generation of advertising products. You will combine statistical modeling with large-scale data analysis to drive product decisions and business outcomes.

You will collaborate across teams, develop models, and leverage SQL, Python, and R to extract actionable insights that improve ad performance and user experience. A Master’s degree and several years of analytics experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 3 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a PhD degree.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders in cross-projects and team settings to identify and clarify business or product questions to answer.
• Use data infrastructure or existing data models to design and evaluate models to solve defined problems.
• Gather information, goals, priorities, and data infrastructure context around the questions to answer.
• Own data gathering, extraction, and validation across sources using SQL, R, Python; ensure data readiness for analysis.
