Job summary

The RDC I at CO2000 H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, Inc. is responsible for data management across multiple research projects.

You will review medical records, extract trial data as per protocols, and ensure data is captured accurately in study databases. You will work with the study coordinator and monitors under moderate supervision, with opportunities for career growth within the Research Data Coordinator path.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED; 1 year experience with automated data processing or databases, or AA/AS degree in lieu of experience.
• Experience with EMR systems like PowerChart or similar, and clinical trial management systems preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize and manage time under deadlines.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or anatomy/physiology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage data for multiple research projects and extract trial data from medical records according to protocols.
• Review and synthesize clinical information to ensure accurate data entry into study databases.
• Coordinate with study coordinators, monitors, and trial sponsors on data requirements and queries.
• Maintain data quality and integrity under moderate supervision with opportunities for career growth in the RDC career path.

Summary

The RDC I is responsible for the data management of multiple research projects. The position is required to review and synthesize information from medical records (clinic notes, pathology reports, radiology reports, patient questionnaires, etc.) to extract industry, cooperative, and investigator-initiated trial data as specified by assigned research protocols. The role works with the study coordinator and monitors regarding all data requirements to ensure data is captured according to the study protocol. The RDC I is expected to work under moderate supervision and direction from the manager/supervisor and Principal Investigator to ensure accurate data is entered and reported into study database systems. The RDC I consults frequently with the study coordinator and trial sponsor and internal monitors regarding data requirements, query resolution, and data capture. This position has the opportunity for career growth within the Research Data Coordinator career path.

Minimum Required

• High School Diploma/GED
• High School Diploma/GED with 1 year experience using automated data processing techniques, word process software or data base software programs.
• *In lieu of experience, an AA/AS degree is acceptable.

Preferred

• Knowledge of EMR systems (e.g. Powerchart), clinical trial management systems (e.g. OnCore) or other data entry systems.
• Experience with clinical trials preferred; previous experience in a medically related field or an understanding of medical terminology preferred.
• Additional Skills/ Specialized Training Required: Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with staff and other health care professionals. Must have ability to prioritize and pace one’s-self when working under the pressure of deadlines and work volume. Successfully demonstrates competency by meeting established competency guideline/check list annually.
• Preferred: Experience with interpretation of various aspects of a medical record, familiarity with confidentiality requirement and security of research subject data. Coursework or experience in medical terminology or anatomy and physiology. Previous experience in a medically related or research field preferred.

Salary Range

Salary Range $20.64 - $31.47
