Job summary

JES Tech, contracting at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, seeks a Research Coordinator to support the Behavioral Health & Performance Lab. You will design protocols, configure study hardware/software, and manage human data collection and analysis to advance NASA’s exploration goals.

You will collaborate with NASA personnel and external partners, prepare technical reports, and contribute to scientific publications. On-site work requirement with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 2-3 years of experience in behavioral research.
• Experience with human behavior and performance research.
• Experience managing and implementing human research protocols, including logistics planning and data collection, processing, and management.
• Experience summarizing data using descriptive statistics, figures and other data visualizations.
• Interest in human behavior, psychology, cognition, biobehavioral health, and performance.
• Experience supporting NASA research projects, or experience with other organizations conducting basic, applied, or clinical human research.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project logistics, including equipment/material prep, task tracking, procedures and schedules.
• Manage the full data pipeline (collection, validation, cleaning, analysis) per lab standards.
• Assist NASA customer and BHP Lab Scientists with specialized tasks for optimal lab performance.
• Train lab members, test subjects, and crew on data collection protocols.
• Develop and implement innovative solutions to problems.
• Liaise with collaborators to plan, track, and complete research.
• Participate in literature reviews, initial reports, summaries, and project summaries.
• Present project updates and results at meetings/conferences.
