Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Research Coordinator I in the Digestive Disease Institute. You will support the Celiac group by enrolling patients in trials, conducting visits, and collecting study data.

The role requires regulatory, data management and collaboration with sponsors, investigators and coordinators to ensure trial integrity. A certification in Human Subjects Research within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of clinical research or healthcare experience, or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare or science.
• Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, data entry, and EPIC.
• Understanding of basic study design concepts and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate compliant implementation and conduct of human subjects research projects.
• Maintain regulatory documents and binders; conduct data management; complete IRB submissions.
• Report and document serious adverse events and safety logs; communicate with sponsors and monitors.
• Collaborate with investigators, sponsors and research staff to plan and evaluate study protocols and recruitment.
• Schedule site visits, webinars, monitoring and close-out visits; monitor project status and data.
• Prepare and respond to audits; maintain research tools; complete certifications as required.

As a Research Coordinator supporting the Celiac group, your role is crucial in enrolling patients in clinical trials, conducting study visits and collecting questionnaires with important study-related information. In this role, you will obtain physician signatures, assist with minimal-risk studies and support biorepository activities. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (flexible start/end times)

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Assistwith coordinating the compliant implementation and conduct of human subject research projects.
• Maintain regulatory documents and binders, conduct data management, complete IRBsubmissionsand communicate with the research team.
• Report and complete serious adverse events and/or safety logs.
• Communicate with sponsors, monitors and research personnel to ensure all aspects of study compliance.
• Collaborate with primary investigators, sponsors and research caregivers to plan, conduct and evaluate project protocols, including research subject recruitment.
• Schedule pre-site selection visits, site initiation visits, webinars, monitoring and close-out visits.
• Plan, conduct and evaluate project protocols and research subject recruitment.
• Monitor and report project status and research data.
• Complete regulatory documents, data capture, monitoring plans and protocol-related activities.
• Assist with preparing and responding to audits and maintaining research tools.
• Complete certification in Human Subjects Research as required by the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines adopted by Cleveland Clinic.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• HighSchoolDiploma or GEDand two years of clinical research or healthcare experience
• OR Associate’s or Bachelor’sDegree in a healthcare or a science-related field
• Demonstratedproficiencywith various computer-based skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, data entry, and EPIC)
• Understanding of the basic concepts of study design
• Within90 daysof hire,must successfully complete certification in Human Subjects Research as required by the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines adopted by Cleveland Clinic
• Strong organizational,communicationand interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’sDegree in a healthcare or a science-related field
• Previous STNA/bench research experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and EPIC

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
• In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds
