Job Description - Research Contract Analyst (240003Y3)
Job Summary
This position, under the guidance of a Research Contract Analyst Lead, is responsible for the preparation, negotiation, and execution of contractual agreements with trial sponsors on behalf of TGH. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional departments to meet client deliverables, ensuring all duties align with the mission, vision, and values of the Office of Clinical Research and Tampa General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Review draft contract documents, including Start-up Agreements, Work Orders, and Change Orders, from sponsor/grantor templates, following guidance from the Research Contract Analyst Lead and relevant departments.
- Facilitate the negotiation of Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs) by reviewing sponsor CDAs and negotiating within established guidelines, coordinating with legal and business departments to ensure timely agreements.
- Draft and edit contractual agreements based on standard templates and policies.
- Communicate with legal counsel as needed.
- Manage sponsor interactions with new and established contacts, following guidance from the Research Contract Analyst Lead.
- Review and edit sponsor contractual templates to ensure TGH’s positions are covered and potential concerns are highlighted.
- Ensure all contracts contain TGH’s necessary edits before sending to the sponsor.
- Maintain contractual documents in relevant databases and ensure proper processing.
- Provide quality deliverables within strict deadlines.
- Prepare contract approval timelines and lead follow-up efforts to obtain approvals.
- Negotiate and finalize contract language in line with project requirements and standards.
- Disseminate and file contractual agreements appropriately.
- Coordinate efforts among TGH clients, suppliers, and outside counsel for timely execution of agreements.
- Track all contracts and correspondence, providing periodic updates.
- Participate in the development and testing of tools and procedures.
- Prepare ad hoc management reports as needed.
- Lead or participate in client and team calls and contract review meetings.
- Full-time presence in the office is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, including paralegal/legal studies, with at least two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Clinical trial contracting experience is highly preferred.
- Advanced legal training or coursework is a plus.
- Knowledge of contract management principles.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database software.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
- Strong writing skills for reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to interpret contractual documents and technical procedures.
- Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from managers and clients.
- Problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
