Job summary

Valency Systems Inc. is seeking a Community Manager to own day-to-day relationships with the research community across social channels, Discord, and the Valency Hub. You will identify impactful conversations, highlight researchers and papers, and bring back feedback to shape product development.

This role welcomes recent graduates and emphasizes judgment, writing, and a passion for science over years of experience. Hybrid work with in-person collaboration three days a week.

Qualifications

• You write clearly and quickly; you can turn a paper abstract into a post a postdoc would actually share.

Responsibilities

• Own Valency's social channels (Bluesky, X, LinkedIn, YouTube) and tailor content to each platform.
• Turn papers, preprints, and Hub discussions into posts and threads that researchers want to share.
• Join conversations scientists are already having online about AI in research, open science, preprints, and peer review.
• Moderate Discord, welcome newcomers, answer questions, and route feedback to the team.
• Recruit researchers to publish and discuss on Valency Hub and help new groups get started.
• Spotlight researchers and papers through profiles and highlights.
• Plan and host virtual events and organize in-person meetups in Berkeley and Bay Area campuses.
• Contribute to newsletters and explainers; share weekly read-outs with the team.
• Track engagement, growth, and sign-ups to guide future activities.
