The Department of Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and renewal is based on satisfactory performance and funding.

Expertise is required in in vivo CRISPR targeting, flow cytometry and general molecular cell biology techniques.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biological Sciences required.
• Experience with in vivo CRISPR targeting, flow cytometry and molecular cell biology techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop a vigorous research program focused on neuroimmunology and neurodevelopment projects.
• Interact with and train technicians and graduate students.
• Assist with submission of grant applications/contracts and funding of research projects.
• Participate in discussions, monitor research progress and morale.

The Department of Systems Pharmacology and Translational Therapeutics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of In vivo CRISPR targeting, Flow cytometry and General molecular cell biology techniques. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biological Sciences.

Responsibilities may include developing a vigorous research program focused on neuroimmunology and neurodevelopment projects. Interacting and training technicians and graduate students. Assisting with the submission of grant applications/contracts and funding of research projects. Will also participate in free discussion, research progress, and overall morale.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to primarily carry out a research program in Dr. Yeong Shin Yim’s lab. The position will allow the candidate to grow as an independent scientist and gain eligibility to apply for funding through different mechanisms.
