Job summary

The Allen Institute seeks a Research Associate I to join the Molecular Genetics department in Seattle. You will support the Genetic Tools Pipeline with data curation, bench support, and inventory management, while coordinating across internal teams and external collaborators.

This full-time, onsite role emphasizes meticulous protocol adherence, communication, and contribution to viral vector and transgenic mouse projects in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biology, neuroscience, or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs and maintain meticulous records.

Responsibilities

• Support Genetic Tools Pipeline coordination, data quality, and metadata organization.
• Perform bench-level laboratory support including sample preparation, processing, and storage per SOPs.
• Maintain laboratory organization, inventory, and equipment compliance across facilities and vendors.
• Manage biological resource distribution, MTAs, and repository-related record-keeping.
• Create, maintain, and audit SOPs and process-tracking tools for pipeline visibility and data integrity.
• Communicate professionally across internal teams and external partners; ensure timely follow-through.
