The Allen Institute is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the automation group within the Molecular Tool Development team in Shared Resources. Qualifications
- 5 years in laboratory automation, liquid handling, and high-throughput molecular assays.
- Ability to translate workflows into scalable automated solutions.
- Experience with LIMS integration and barcode-based sample tracking.
- Proven leadership in automation projects and stakeholder management.
- Experience with scripting or data analysis tools (R, Python).
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the automation group within Molecular Tool Development.
- Define technical requirements and develop automation roadmaps.
- Establish standards, best practices, and validation protocols.
- Drive equipment evaluation, procurement, and vendor partnerships.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to translate methods into automation.
- Mentor staff and manage staffing and budgets.
