Job summary

SystImmune is inviting a Research Associate I/II to join the Bioassay team in Immuno-Oncology. This hands-on role supports engineering of complex cell lines and execution of cell-based immunoassays to enable discovery and development of novel cancer therapeutics.

The ideal candidate will be a strong experimentalist with experience in genetic modification and bioassay execution in a fast-paced environment. This role is full-time onsite in Redmond, WA and will move to Bothell, WA fall 2026,

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in biology-related field with relevant industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with genetic modification workflows such as lentiviral transduction and CRISPR knock-ins.
  • Experience performing immunoassays or flow cytometry and data analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer stable cell lines using lentiviral transduction and CRISPR knock-ins/knock-outs.
  • Analyze complex datasets, prepare technical reports, and present findings.
  • Perform batch qualification of reagents and cell lines for assay consistency.
  • Maintain and manipulate co-cultures of primary immune cells and engineered lines.
  • Conduct functional assays with imaging, flow cytometry, and ELISA platforms.
  • Develop and validate cell-based and immunoassays for drug programs.

SystImmune Inc. is seeking a motivated Research Associate I/II to join the Bioassay team within the Immuno-Oncology department. This role will support the engineering of complex cell lines and the execution of cell-based immunoassays to enable the discovery and development of novel cancer therapeutics. The ideal candidate will be a strong experimentalist with direct experience in genetic modification (such as lentiviral transduction and knock-in/out) and bioassay execution who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This is a hands-on laboratory role focused on critical materials generation, assay execution, and data analysis. The successful candidate will maintain high-quality experimental standards while developing deep technical expertise in immuno-oncology drug development.

This role is full-time onsite in Redmond, WA and will move to Bothell, WA fall 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer stable cell lines using lentiviral transduction, CRISPR knock-ins, and knock-outs
  • Analyze complex datasets, prepare technical reports, and present findings to internal teams.
  • Perform rigorous batch qualification of critical reagents and cell lines to ensure assay consistency.
  • Maintain and manipulate complex co-cultures of primary immune cells and engineered cancer cell lines.
  • Conduct functional assays using Incucyte live-cell imaging, flow cytometry, and ELISA-based platforms.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate cell-based and immunoassays to support drug development programs.
Qualifications
Research Associate I:
  • BS or MS in Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or related scientific field
  • Minimum 1+ year of industry laboratory experience (internships may be considered if highly relevant)
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture techniques and aseptic techniques
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture techniques
  • Exposure to genetic modification workflows such as transient transfections or lentiviral transduction
  • Basic familiarity executing immunoassays such as ELISA or flow cytometry
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Research Associate II:
  • BS or MS in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Typically, 2-4 years of relevant industry experience
  • Direct experience engineering cell lines, including executing lentiviral transductions and knock-ins
  • Proven track record executing and troubleshooting cell-based assays and flow cytometry workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to work with moderate independence
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting oncology, immuno-oncology, immunology, or biologics drug discovery programs.
  • Experience with single-cell cloning, CRISPR/Cas9 workflows, or stable cell line selection.
  • Proficiency with Incucyte live-cell imaging, multi-color flow cytometry, or MSD multiplex platforms.
  • Exposure to high-throughput research settings or regulated laboratory environments.
  • Strong data analysis software skills (e.g., GraphPad Prism, FlowJo) and scientific communication skills
Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this position is 60,000 - 80,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to a candidate's level qualifications, experience, and skills.

While most offers typically fall within the low to mid-point of the range, we may extend an offer toward the higher end for exceptional candidates whose background and expertise exceeds the requirements of the role.
