Texas Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a detail-oriented Research Associate to support HIV/AIDS-focused projects using the SIV rhesus macaque model. The role involves lab work, data management, and collaboration across a multidisciplinary team.

You will prepare samples, execute RNA/DNA extractions, spatial transcriptomics, and next-generation sequencing workflows while maintaining biorepositories and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant bioscience required.
• Experience with immunology/molecular biology techniques preferred.
• Strong organizational and data management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare blood and tissue samples for nucleic acid extraction and analyses.
• Perform RNA extraction for gene expression and epigenetic studies.
• Process and embed tissues for spatial transcriptomics and imaging.
• Isolate and prepare various primary cell populations for downstream analyses.
• Conduct immunology and molecular biology assays including RT-qPCR and Western blotting.
• Assist with neurobehavioral testing in rhesus macaques and data analysis.
• Maintain biorepository records and manage sample inventories.
• Ensure biosafety, safety, and regulatory compliance.
